Asia-Pacific Forum Grandly Held in Beijing
On October 20, 2011, the World Institute for Action Learning (WIAL), Asia-Pacific Forum which was hosted by WIAL-Beijing and organized by Beijing Genechain Management Consulting Co., Ltd., was grandly held in Beijing, China. Skip Leonard, PhD, CEO of WIAL, was invited to attend this forum, and shared his experience and practice on Action Learning as a guest speaker with over 100 senior executives, HR and training managers, and consultants from some famous enterprises in China, meanwhile, some other well-known experts on Action Learning from Australia, Taiwan and other districts also shared the practical application and experience on Action Learning in Australia, Taiwan and other districts. During the process of sharing, those who were present at the forum participated into the coaching experiencing stage of Action Learning actively, which allowed them to appreciate the true charm of Action learning under the leadership of global senior experts on Action Learning.

The Forum started with the enthusiastic and passionate address delivered by Mr. Tang Changjun, Chief Advisor of Beijing Genechain Management Consulting Co., Ltd. Then Skipton Leonard, PhD, CEO of WIAL delivered his speech titled Why do You call it Action Learning, in which, he stated that Action Learning was the most powerful tool in solving complicated problems met by contemporary organization from the aspects of the origin of Action Learning, contrast of Chinese and Western culture, the evolution of learning trend, etc. Meanwhile, Skipton Leonard, PhD also introduced the factors and implications of Action Learning, major advantages of WIAL action learning, and expounded by the cases of Action Learning in the United States.
Mr. Tang Changjun introduced the progress and achievements of coach training by WIAL-Beijing, analyzed the trend, practical application, mistake and response of Action Learning in China by integrating The Investigation Report on Action Learning in China, 2010, and shared his experience and gains during the promotion and application in Chinese enterprises.

Mr. Kevin Hao, the certified coach of WIAL, expounded two typical applications of Action Learning in terms of developing leadership by vivid cases, one is to develop leadership systematically in 3 - 6 months by Action Learning Programs, the other is to customize and develop leadership by 1 - 3 day’s workshop. Meanwhile, he also systematically introduced three ways for developing enterprise coaches, which informed us of the method on how the Action Learning is integrated with the cultivation of leadership, and thus nursing enterprise coaches.
Ms. Deidre Lekas, the certified coach of WIAL, was invited at this forum to share the practice and application of action learning in Australia.
Ira Cohen, the certified coach of WIAL, shared how We Can Make the Action Learning Help Chinese SMEs to Solve Corporate Problems and Develop High-potential Talent, he analyzed the implementation status of Action Learning in such cities as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Dalian, etc. by using extensive quantity of data, and reached the powerful conclusion that “Action Learning is quite effective, Indeed”.
Initiatively, the Forum arranged the real practice with the honored guest. Directed by Mr. Kevin Hao, the certified coach of WIAL, the participants were divided into 12 experiencing groups, a tough and complicated problem needed to be solved was given to each group by one guest, each guest set the ability one expect to develop by Action Learning, then 12 coaches certified by WIAL lead the group to solve the complicated problems by using the core coaching guide technology, and develop the abilities of each group member. By practical drills, the participants understood the power of Action Learning and the charm of catalyzing.
During the last phase of "Round-Table Dialogue", Skipton Leonard, PhD, Mrs. Paulina, the Chairman of WIAL, Taiwan, Ms. Cui Chunlan, the senior manager of Li-Ning Learning & Developing Center, and Mr. Zhang, Ding-kun, the senior expert of Action Learning, shared the topic on how to lead Action Learning into enterprise, and answered the questions actively on various problems occurred during the implementation process of Action Learning proposed by the participants. Another climax of the Forum was reached due to the excellent answering and explanation by the experts in Action Learning.
The Forum is a large-scale and influential gala during the Chinese history of Action Learning. As the Beijing branch for WIAL, Beijing Genechain Management Consulting Co., Ltd. has always been dedicated to the promotion and application of Action Learning, who will definitely leave an impressive mark during the development of Action Learning in China by following the footsteps of the forerunners, strengthening its professionalism and advancing persistently.
