
Arthur Freedman, Ph.D.
Director of
Research
Arthur M. Freedman is an organization development and change management
scholar-practitioner. He is the Principal of Arthur M. Freedman & Associates.
He is a Former Director of both the AU/NTL MS in Organization Development
Program and the MS in Human Resource Management Program in the Department
of Public Administration, School of Public Affairs, American University.
In addition to being a member of the WIAL Board of Directors, he is the
Vice President of Research, responsible for developing the research agenda
for the Institute as well as identifying academics and scholar-practioners
to conduct WIAL-sponsored research.
He earned both his B.S. and MBA at Boston University's College of Business
Administration and his Ph.D. in Personality and Clinical Psychology at the
University of Chicago.
He is a Visiting Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania and an Adjunct
Professor at both the National Labor College and at George Washington University.
He has consulted with government, non-profit, and commercial organizations
throughout North America as well as Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, Germany,
Russia, Vietnam, Singapore, and Zimbabwe
Dr. Freedman is a Fellow and former board member of the Society of Consulting
Psychology (Division 13, American Psychological Association) and a Fellow
of Division 52 (International Psychology), American Psychological Association.
He is a Past-President of the Society of Psychologists in Management (SPIM).
His received the Most Outstanding Article for 1998 award from the editors
of the Consulting Psychology Journal, American Psychological Association,
Division 13 (Consulting Psychology). He also received the 1994 RHR International
Award for Excellence in Consulting Psychology from Division 13 (Consulting
Psychology), American Psychological Association.
