Business School Netherlands (BSN)
BSN, a registered institute of higher education in the Netherlands, has dedicated the 20 years of its existence to educate professional managers the Action Learning way. With close to 1500 MBA graduates holding the BSN Action Learning MBA qualification and more than 1000 managers registered on BSN programs several thousands of Action Learning Projects (ALP) and Action Learning Dissertations (ALD) has been lodged; all dealing with real and urgent problems and challenges manifesting itself in the world of work and organizations. BSN even holds the philosophy that any short course certification should be a result of a dedicated process of Action Learning.
BSN has prominence in management education in the Netherlands and operates from the Netherlands as the hub for its internationalization initiatives. By now this has resulted in students from more than 25 countries and partner activities in China, Czech Republic, Germany, North Africa, West Africa and Southern Africa where it offers formal degrees MBA and DBA degrees and BSN management development programs alike. The relationship with World Institute for Action Learning (WIAL) will see this offering expanded to actual programs and events dealing with the topic of Action Learning as organizational tool.
Professional management education and "workplace education" goes hand in hand in how Action Learning evolved as learning tool of BSN since its inception 1988. In this evolution the views of the "father of Action Learning," Reg Revans, played a fundamental role and so did the advice and interventions of Dr. Michael Marquardt. BSN's affiliation with WIAL is therefore a logical and important continuation of its quest to expand its influence educating working people by way of Action Learning and finding best-fit solutions where their organizations dearly need it.
